Numerologically ‘A’ carries value of 1 and is represented by the sun. A simple glance through A-listers of Bollywood revealed that a lot of them are now naming their kids beginning with ‘A’ and also tweaking them numerologically to ensure great future for their progeny. The latest is Amitabh Bachchan’s grand-daughter who has been named ‘Aaradhya’.
Aishwarya and Abhishek’s child works out to be a number ‘7’ – as she was born on 16th November. According to numerologist Preetha Katyal, ‘7’ is said to be God’s favourite number. Aaradhya is born to be a celebrity who will make a mark in her chosen field. Her name with an added ‘A’ will work wonders for her.”
Talking about the importance of ‘A’ in Farah Khan’s baby Anya’s life, Preetha says that, “Khan’ as a surname would benefit her more than her father’s surname ‘Kunder’ or there could be some hindrance in her success. ‘Anya’ comes to number ‘5’ which definitely shows a self-made person but one who is also fickle-minded. However, if Anya is written with a ‘Aa’ as Anyaa it will make things a lot easier for her future where she will find name and fame.
Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia changed his name to Akshay Kumar and perhaps not for numerological reasons but his son Aarav’s name definitely suggests the bend. It is believed that people whose names begin with ‘A’ or who have multiple ‘A’s in their names means they are ambitious, independent, authoritative, critical, demanding and prefer to struggle alone rather than seek help. They also share beyond their limits and can be attention seeking too.”
Aamir’s son – Azad Rao Khan, according to Preetha is a “born famous personality who will likely out-beat everyone in cinema and prove himself to be another Mr. Perfectionist. Overall Azad Rao Khan will be followed in success by Aaradhya, Anyaa and Aryan,” she adds.
Madhuri Dixit has also named her son Arin, while Emraan Hashmi calls his son Ayaan. Farhan Akhtar and wife Adhuna have named their daughter Akira, while music composer Anu Malik’s daughters are Anmol and Ada. The bug seems to have bitten Bollywood’s badshah Shah Rukh Khan too, for his son is called Aryan. Says Preetha, “He will achieve what he wants but it will come with a little delay because his name works out to number ‘5’.
The film personalities are not the only ones naming their children beginning with ‘A’. Mukesh and Nita Ambani’s children are Akash and Anant; Sachin Tendulkar’s son is Arjun while Leander Peas’ daughter is Aiyana.
Preetha explains why we gravitate towards astrological and numerological combinations. “As Indians, our mental make-up is directly related to the date, time and place of our birth. We routinely have astrological and numerological charts drawn up for our children or want special numbers for our cars or houses, but are cagey about discussing this issue.”
Perhaps it conflicts with the notion of being considered ‘advanced’ or ‘progressive’. The issue is compounded further because few beyond the experts completely comprehend how these calculations affect our lives and work. But nothing lures like success and eventually a lot of people choose to fall back on these measures – but surreptitiously.
There are others who have openly expressed their preferences for letters other than ‘A’ but numerologically the calculations remain in place. For instance in the case of Ekta Kapoor or filmmakers Rakesh Roshan and Karan Johar the preferred letter is ‘K’ when it comes to their work.
