In a prize distribution ceremony where 12 lucky groups of friends from the City won, she said, “I don’t miss a single match and I always make it a point to go to my friend's place or they come over and we bond over the match.”

“As I am a big Royal Challenger Bangalore fan, I love Rahul Dravid and my friends are a big fan of Dhoni from Chennai Super Kings, we are always arguing over who is going to win but we eventually come together when the match ends,” adds Sharmila.

Cricket seems to be a game where many friends bond and keeping that in mind McDowells recently launched an initiative called ‘No 1 Fan Friendzy’, where two groups of friends won a ticket to South Africa to watch the IPL finals. The initiative was launched in 66 cities with diverse group activities encouraging friends to participate and win goodies. The initiative was extended online as well where through an online game at happyhourswithfriends.com.

“Going to South Africa is like a dream come true and I still can’t believe that I will be going there with my friends to watch the match live,” said Rohit, one of the winners.

Many are hoping and expecting the RCB to be in the finals, “It will be like the cherry on top if they do come but we will be cheering for all the teams that will be playing,” said Padmanabha.
