State to grant Rs 5 cr for Parishat's campus

He was speaking at a programme organised to celebrate the birth anniversary of Late Prof Nanjund Rao at the Chitrakala Parishat on Monday. 

The new campus will come up on a 14 acre land at a cost of Rs 15 crore. The government had promised to contribute Rs seven crore, of which Rs two crore was released last year.
 Yeddyurappa unveiled the statue of Prof Nanjund Rao at the Parishat campus. He lauded the contributions of Prof Rao in the field of art, being internationally renowned and yet simple in his thoughts.

 Born in the year 1932, Prof Rao was the founder of Chitrakala Parishat. He transformed the Parishat from a humble art school to a modern art complex. A glance at the photography exhibition on Prof Rao, which was a part of the celebration, captures the chronology of events depicting the growth of the Parishat.
