The burglars have made away with the cash after they broke open the three compartments. “The information on amount of cash stolen is not available. The burglars were not able to open one more compartment. The experts were called in to open that compartment. But even they were not able to open it,” said Bangalore rural sub division DySP M Shankarappa.

The locals who found the ATM have called the Parappana Agrahara police station. The police later came and inspected the ATM.

It was found that the burglars have tried to open the machine using gas cutters. The machine’s cover and a few sensitive parts have been removed and burnt along with some documents.

The police shifted the machine weighing 400 kg in a van to the Anekal police station. Additional SP Subash Gudumani, DySP Shankarappa, inspector  H A Venkatesh and Anekal police sub inspector Chetan Kumar visited the spot.
