Sudden showers on Monday afternoon left many places flooded in the city and causing trouble to commuters.

Various parts of the city, including Marathahalli, Whitefield, Silk board junction, Yeshwantpur and KR Puram, witnessed traffic jams.

According to the BBMP, some trees were uprooted in Narayanapura, Vijayanagar, Mahalakshmi Layout, near Shankar Mutt Cancer Hospital, Cox Town and Kamala Nagar.

However, no one was injured.

Roads in Cox Town and Gandhinagar were waterlogged as well, but BBMP workers attended to them on time.

According to the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre, heavy rainfall was recorded in Shivanagar (28.5m), Vaishali Nagar (26.5mm), Bennigana Halli (23.5mm), Sampangi Nagar (22.5mm), Basaveshwaranagar (22mm), Dasarahalli (20.5mm), Sondekoppa (17mm), Domlur (13.5mm), Dasanapura (13mm) and Nandini Layout (12.5mm).

The India Meteorological Department has forecast more rain in the coming days. The city recorded 15.8 mm rainfall.
