The Lokayukta officials caught a surveyor red-handed when he was receiving a bribe of Rs five lakh from a builder near Gymkhana Club in Chandra Layout on Monday night.
The Lokayukta police said the revenue authorities had demolished the compound wall of an apartment ‘Vitola’ built by Rajendran, a builder.
When Rajendran sought the help of three surveyors, including Vasu, the suspect, they allegedly demanded Rs 22 lakh to survey the disputed land.
Rajendran approached the Lokayukta police and filed a complaint.
The police immediately laid a trap and arrested Vasu while he was accepting the bribe.
