Teachers hurt in road accident

The accident occurred at around 11.30 am. The school bus was carrying the teachers and their children to Wonderla, a theme park.

In all, 34 people, including four children, were in the bus when the accident occurred. The teachers had taken time off from work after the exams and were on their way to the theme park. “We were playing antakshari when the driver took the turn. He must have miscalculated the turn,” said Sridevi, one of the teachers.

Christina, another teacher’s right hand was twisted in the accident. She also had pain in the neck. While some of the injured were admitted to BGS Global Hospital, others were treated as outpatients.

Two killed

Two youths from Bangalore were killed on the spot when a speeding truck hit their two-wheeler near Nidaghatta border in Maddur taluk on Thursday, reports DHNS from Mandya.

The victims are - Ajaykumar (21), son of B A Nagaraj, Gangamma Street, Ashoknagar and Santosh (21), son of P M Shivaprasad, Vidyapeeta Main Road, Chennammanakere. The mishap occurred while they were returning to Bangalore. Maddur town police have registered a case.
