Techie jumps to death from 4th floor of mall

A 31-year-old software engineer committed suicide by jumping off from the fourth floor of a mall near ITPL in Whitefield police station limits on Wednesday night.

Krishna Balasubramanya, a native of Hyderabad, was employed at a well-known firm in ITPL. He was residing with   his wife in Hosakote. 

According to the police, he went to the food court in the mall to have dinner at around 9 pm, after which he took a stroll near the smoking zone on the fourth floor of the mall.

He then spoke to his relatives and in-laws on the phone, following which he climbed a six-feet-wall on the fourth floor of the mall and jumped to death.

The passersby, who saw him falling, rushed him to a nearby hospital but he was declared brought dead, the police said.

 They informed the police, who visited the spot and identified him using the identity card that was found in his pocket. The police alerted his family members.

The police suspect a family dispute to be the reason behind his suicide. His parents and relatives are being questioned by the police.

A case has been registered in Whitefield police station.
