The victims, Harsha S (17) and Sachin (16), were riding a motorcycle from their residence in Srirampura to a jewellery shop at New BEL Road for work. At around 6:30 am, as they rode along the service road above BHEL underpass, a speeding milk tanker, allegedly driven by a drunk driver, rammed into them from the rear.

The impact threw the motorcycle into the bridge barrier. Sachin sustained injuries to his hand and leg. Harsha, the pillion rider, suffered severe head, face, and abdominal injuries. He was rushed to MS Ramaiah Hospital but died on the way.

The tanker driver, identified as Nagesh H (37), was taken into custody at the Sadashivanagar Traffic Police Station and reportedly reeked of alcohol. Police have registered a case in this regard and further action is underway.
