Bengaluru: Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya has appealed to the Public Accounts Committee, New Delhi, to take steps to open the HAL airport for commercial air traffic.
Taking to X, he tweeted that the HAL airport would serve people while citizens wait for the city’s second airport to be built. It would also save time for people who commute to the Kempegowda International Airport in the north, he added.
“Bengaluru needs HAL airport reopened at the earliest. While we wait for a new second airport, there is no logic in wasting the already existing public infrastructure at HAL. Thousands of passengers will benefit, saving the long commute to BIAL. Have pushed for this at PAC,”
he wrote.
