Tenders for Roerich Estate after elections

Last Updated IST

The project to develop Roerich Estate has hit several roadblocks as there were no bidders for the first tender and the model code of conduct came in the way of the second tender.

The department of Archeology, Museums and Heritage had floated tenders to restore the glory of the sprawling 456-acre Tataguni Estate on Kanakapura Road, where the legendary Russian artist Svetoslav Roerich and his actor-wife Devika Rani lived. An art centre has been proposed to be set up at the estate on the lines of the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam.

Speaking at a function organised in memory of  Devika Rani Roerich here on Friday, Manu Baligar, Chief Executive Officer of the Roerich and Devika Rani Roerich Board, said that tenders would again be called after the conclusion of Lok Sabha polls.
