The fair, which began on Thursday, attracted over 1.75 lakh visitors within two days.

Regional delights

States such as Sikkim, Meghalaya, Odisha, Assam, Bihar, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh showcased organic food grains and millets unique to their regions. Processed millet products, ready-to-eat snacks, and millet-based powders were a major highlight.

Agricultural universities, research institutes, and agri-science students actively engaged with attendees, while agri-tech companies and entrepreneurs utilised the platform to connect with farmers and Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) to expand their networks.

Focus on agri-tech

Satyukt Analytics Pvt Ltd, a Bengaluru-based agri-tech company, showcased its customised remote-sensing solutions for farmers. These include soil health analysis, crop monitoring, and a 15-day weather forecast to help plan farming activities efficiently.

“We work with farmers not only in India, but also in Indonesia, Zambia, and Kenya,” said Aymen, a company representative.

BK Devarao, an 80-year-old award-winning organic farmer from Dakshina Kannada, attracted significant attention by displaying hundreds of grain varieties grown on his farm in Belthangady.

Visitor feedback

Sowmya Girish Gowda, a Rajajinagar resident attending the fair with her husband, observed fewer stalls compared to the previous year.

“Last year, there were more organic products to buy. This time, there are more marketing opportunities, but fewer items available for immediate purchase,” she said.
