After modelling and acting, Madhuri Bhattacharya is trying her hands at being a business woman. But this does not mean, it’s the dead end for her acting career.

Though one has not seen her after the big Bollywood debut in Prem Ka Game, Madhuri says that she has been approached with many interesting scripts. “Debuting in Bollywood is great but things work extremely slowly out there. I have heard such amazing scripts but just before I sign anything they tell me that they have a particular hero in mind and only if they get him, will they go ahead with the project,” she says.

Being an avid movie-goer herself, Madhuri says that most heroines have to wait until the hero is finalised because they’re the real crowd-pullers, “The chase for the hero never ends here. Everyone wants an established face for the story because ultimately that’s what brings the people to the theatre,” says Madhuri, who given a chance, would want to work with Sanjay Dutt or Hrithik Roshan.

Madhuri has a soft corner for Sandalwood, after all Khushi and Bisi Bisi is where it all began for her.

“I learnt so much from the two movies I starred in. Things here are professional and people don’t waste time. Everything goes according to a schedule, making it such a pleasure to work,’ she says.   “I never wanted to leave Bangalore, but when offers came in from Mumbai I had no choice but to move. I come here as often as I can to spend time with my family and friends,” she adds.

As for the future she says that she would like to undergo an image change on-screen and would like to experiment with roles that would take her out of her zone.

“I am tired of being portrayed as a hot chick or a fun chick.

Almost every movie I have worked in has me donning this hot avatar. There is more to me than just glamour,” she states.
