Police have arrested three men suspected to have murdered their friend at Isro Layout near Kumaraswamy Layout last week, just because he had not stopped a fight one of them had with another man.

Venkatesh, 40, a daily wage worker from Gubbalala Gate, was found crushed to death with stones in a shed on Bikasipura Main Road on February 12. A passerby, Kumar, had made a complaint to the Kumaraswamy police in this regard.

According to police, Venkatesh was witness to a fight between Raghu, a lorry driver, and Syed Shabbir, 31, one of the three suspects, on February 11. Shabbir got angry with Venkatesh as the latter had done nothing to stop the fight. He then decided to “teach him a lesson”.
Shabbir allegedly instigated the two other suspects — Ravi, 25, and Sathish, 26 — against Venkatesh. The trio, police said, then “conspired” to murder Venkatesh. Accordingly, they offered him liquor and as he slipped into an inebriated state, took him to the shed in Bikasipura and crushed his head with a stone. He died instantly, police added.

Shabbir is a resident of Nayandahalli while Ravi, 25, is from Bannerghatta Road and Sathish, 26, from Ramanagara.
