Nearly 50 non-Kannadigas were given free Kannada classes in hybrid mode in a span of three months and were given a “I know Kannada” certificate during the ceremony.

With the tagline of the course being 'Teaching Kannada to every heart and home', the Kannada learning course has achieved to teach Kannada to over 800 non-Kannadigas since its inception in 2022, according to Team Makaranda.

One of the organisers, who did not want to be named, said that over 3,000 volunteers from across Bengaluru and Bengalureans abroad who wanted to keep in touch with the language volunteered to take Kannada classes.

Kannada Development Authority (KDA) Secretary Santosh Hanagal chaired the programme. The certificate distribution was followed by cultural programmes by the Vaividya Kala Sambhrama Group.
