Bengaluru: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) has detained three Sri Lankan nationals for allegedly staying illegally in Bengaluru.
The suspects — Videogame Iresh Hansaka Jayardhane, 31, Jayasingle Pathirannage Sugath Sameendu, 46, and Jayasariya Mudalige Dilip Harishan, 30 — are accused of entering India on a boat from Jaffna in 2024.
They first landed in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, before moving to the outskirts of Bengaluru. Since then, they had been living in an apartment in Devanahalli.
During interrogation, the men revealed that they had entered without a passport or visa, with the help of another foreigner.
The CCB has booked them under the Foreigners Act and are investigating the circumstances of their stay.
