The M Chinnaswamy Stadium will turn into a fortress for the IPL matches it is scheduled to host between April 8 and May 19.

Around 1,100 police personnel, reserve police force battalions and anti-sabotage squads will guard the stadium during the T-20 extravaganza. CCTV cameras have been installed in the stadium, its precincts and the surrounding areas, which will be monitored by officials at a purpose-built control room, police said in a statement.

BMTC and Metro services will run for extended hours on the days of the match to help cricket fans. Parking will be available on St Mark’s Cathedral and St Joseph’s Indian High School premises on match days.

Spectators cannot carry cigarettes, lighters, match boxes, weapons, laptops, video and still cameras, pamphlets, black flags, food and beverage bottles, paints, alcohol, bags and helmets into the stadium, the press release stated.
