Bengaluru: The Bannerghatta Biological Park announced that two tigresses have given birth to six cubs in February. The total number of tigers in the park has now increased to 19.

Six-year-old tigress Hima gave birth to her second litter of four cubs on February 14. She gave birth to her first litter in June 2024 .

Another tigress, eight-year-old Aranya, gave birth to her first litter of two cubs on February 16. This litter was sired by white tiger Veer, acquired from Arignar Anna Zoological Park, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, under the Animal Exchange Programme.

The tigresses and cubs are healthy and doing well, the BBP said.
