Bengaluru: The city police have put in place traffic diversions ahead of Vaikunta Ekadashi on Friday, when a large number of devotees and VIPs are expected to visit the Iskcon temple in Rajajinagar.
The restrictions will be in force between 8 am and 10 pm.
Vehicles moving on West of Chord Road from Sandal Soap Factory Junction towards the Mahalakshmi metro station must use Dr Rajkumar Road to reach West of Chord Road at the Rajajinagar 1st Block signal junction.
“There is a possibility of heavy traffic congestion on West of Chord Road and adjacent roads,” noted a release from the police.
Autorickshaws and cabs are not allowed to pick up and drop passengers on West of Chord Road, between the Sandal Soap Factory Junction and Mahalakshmi Metro Junction. They can use the opposite lane.
Similarly, the Iskcon Vaikunta Hill, Vasanthapura in southern Bengaluru, is also expected to see a huge crowd between 6 am and 10 pm. The police have barricaded a portion of Pipeline Road from Gubbalala Village Junction to the Pipeline Junction.
Between 5.30 am and 9 pm, the KR Puram law and order police station road and the stretch of the road connecting Ramamurthy Nagar main road to Kalkere will also be restricted for vehicular movement.
