Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Traffic Police have announced traffic diversions and parking restrictions around the Field Marshal Manekshaw Parade Ground in view of 79th Independence Day celebrations. The measures will be in place from 8 am to 11 am on August 15 to ensure smooth vehicular movement and public safety.

Traffic will be diverted on Cubbon Road from BRV junction to Kamaraj Road Junction in both directions. Vehicles from Infantry Road moving towards Manipal Centre will need to take a detour via Safina Plaza, Main Guard Cross Road, Alice Circle and Kamaraj road before rejoining Cubbon Road.

Similarly, vehicles heading from Manipal Centre to BRV junction will be prohibited near Manipal Centre and diverted towards Webb’s Junction, MG Road, Mayo Hall Junction and Anil Kumble Circle.

A complete no-parking zone has been declared on key arterial roads, including Central Street from Anil Kumble Circle to Shivajinagar Bus Stand, Cubbon Road from CTO Circle to KR Road, and MG road from Anil Kumble Circle to Queen’s Circle. Citizens are advised to use public transport to avoid parking woes.

For those attending the parade, specific entry and parking protocols have been established. Invitees with car passes are required to park their vehicles at designated spots. Emergency vehicles and government department vehicles (KSRP, QRT, BBMP) are to enter through Gate 2 on Cubbon Road.

Attendees are urged to arrive and be seated by 8 am, and for security reasons, they are strictly prohibited from bringing mobile phones, helmets, cameras, radios, umbrellas or any other equipment into the parade ground. The public can access drinking water and toilet facilities provided by the BBMP at the venue. For assistance, dial 112.
