Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Traffic Police collected Rs 5.35 lakh in fines against traffic violations during a special drive between 11 am and 4 pm on Monday.

The lion’s share of the fines was collected related to no-entry and riding against one-way violations, making up Rs 2.31 lakh and 1.955 lakh, respectively.

The other violations were triple riding, riding on the footpath and parking on the footpath. 

Additionally, the BTP conducted a special drive between December 16 and 22 against drink driving and speeding, registering 769 and 241 cases., respectively. 

The BTP checked a total of 60,903 vehicles for drunk driving during the special drive. It also collected fines amounting to Rs 2.41 lakh against speeding violations.
