Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) conducted a special drive against drunk driving between December 5 and 8, registering 183 cases.
During the drive, the BTP inspected 16,384 vehicles and seized the driving licences of offenders. The licences were sent to the respective Regional Transport Offices (RTO) for suspension.
On no-entry routes
The BTP booked 379 drivers for using no-entry routes, collecting Rs 1.92 lakh in fines during a special drive conducted until 4 pm on Monday.
In total, 986 cases were registered for various traffic violations. These included 260 cases for one-way violations, 156 for no-parking offenses, 82 for footpath riding, 50 for triple riding, and 59 additional cases for riding on footpaths. The drive resulted in a total fine collection of Rs 4.98 lakh.
