To accommodate an expected 30,000 participants at the TCS World 10K Marathon on Sunday, Bengaluru Traffic Police have issued an advisory effective between 5 am and 10 am.
Parking will be prohibited at the War Memorial Junction, Annaswamy Mudaliar Road, St John’s Church Road, Assaye Road, Wheeler Road, Ajanta Road, Kamaraj Road, Kasturba Road (from Hudson Circle to Queen’s Circle), MG Road (from Queen’s Circle to Webb’s Junction on both sides), Dickenson Road (from Webb’s Junction to Halasuru Road), Cubbon Road (from Manipal Centre to CTO Circle), Central Street, Queen’s Road (from Balekundri Circle to Queen’s Circle), Raj Bhavan Road (from CTO Circle to Raj Bhavan Junction), Infantry Road (from Raj Bhavan Circle to Traffic Headquarters Junction), Ambedkar Veedhi (from K R Circle to Balekundri Circle), roads inside and around Cubbon Park, Vydehi Hospital Road, and RRMR Road.
Vehicle movement will be restricted on all these roads, besides Bhaskaran Road - Kamadhenu Junction - Gurdwara Junction - Kensington Junction - Halasuru Road and Dickenson Road to Begum Mahal Junction, Gangadhar Chetty Road, Siddalingaiah Circle to Queen’s Circle.
Heavy goods vehicles entering the city from Mysuru Road towards MG Road or Old Madras Road must take a right turn at Hudson Circle, proceed via Devanga Road, Devanga Junction, Mission Road, Richmond Flyover, Residency Road, Opera Junction, Mayo Hall, Commissariat Road, Garuda Mall and Hosmat Hospital.
Vehicles entering the city from Ballari Road and Mehkri Road can proceed via Old Udaya TV Office Junction to Nrupathunga Road-Hudson Road. Vehicles entering the city from Old Madras Road and Varthur Road can proceed via Suranjan Das Road to Old Airport Road. Similarly, vehicles entering from Halasuru Lake can proceed via St John’s Road to Cantonment Railway Station and Jayamahal Road to Mehkri Circle.
Participants can park their vehicles at UB City, Freedom Park multi-level car parking, Garuda Mall, 1MG-Lido Mall, AGs Junction and MS Building, whereas the media can park at Manipal Centre, invitees can park at the Swagath Chitramandira, and senior citizens and buses can park at the Army Public School, Kamaraj Road.
