According to the police, the car in which the victim was travelling (KA-03-M-5282), has changed many hands and the cops are yet to establish the ownership.
Police said the car was unable to pass through the gate and got stuck in the centre of the railway track.
The Shimoga train which left Bangalore around 11.50 pm rammed into the four-wheeler killing the victim on the spot.
Police said the victim might have failed to judge the train’s headlights and might have got confused.
Yashwanthpur railway police are investigating.
