The suspects — Maqsood Ahmed, 26, Izhar Pasha, 24, and Hamith Tabrez, 26 — were picked up from different parts of the city.

Police investigations revealed that Ahmed, a former resident of Halasuru who used to run a vegetable shop on Bazar Street, had been thrashed and publicly humiliated by Fahad — now in prison for murder — and Sarfuddin.

With Fahad behind bars, Ahmed allegedly roped in Pasha and Tabrez and set fire to vehicles parked on Kaliyamma Street on July 28 to announce their return to his area.

Eight two-wheelers, seven bicycles, and a car were damaged in the arson. The front portion of a vegetable shop was also damaged.

"The three suspects have been arrested and are currently in police custody. A rowdy sheet will also be opened against them,” a police officer said.
