Rakhee Bhattacharjee (22) from Mumbai and Vijay Kumar (35), a resident of the City, were apprehended on Thursday while they were on their way to a hotel from Bengaluru International Airport around 11.30 pm.

The Koramangala police said Vijay Kumar, employed in a bar at Neelasandra, allegedly provided high-profile sex workers from outside the State to customers in the City.

Police said the nexus had been thriving for over two years. Kumar used to contact online a pimp identified as Kalpana in Delhi, to procure girls for his customers in the City.

They would target software engineers for the apparent reason that they were flush with cash. Both suspects were remanded in judicial custody.

Maid accused of theft

A Spanish national working with a multinational company has accused his maid of stealing 300 euros and 80 pounds (Rs 23,000).

Asier Reguera (40) complained to the Cubbon Park police that he had lost the money on November 13 at a service apartment in D’Souza Layout. He said he had kept his wallet on a table while he was busy talking with some friends.

After they left, he said, he found the currencies missing from his wallet. On interrogation, the 55-year-old maid pleaded innocence.
