The serial crash occurred around 5 pm near the Budihal Gate bus stop in Nelamangala taluk.

According to the Nelamangala Traffic Police, a goods trailer heading towards the city suddenly applied brakes near the bus stop, prompting the Tata Ace behind it to slow down. However, a Benz trailer following both vehicles was unable to brake in time and rammed into the Tata Ace from behind.

The small goods vehicle was instantly crushed between the two trailers.

Triveni (25), who was seated beside the driver, died on the spot. Shivakumar (30), her relative seated in the back, sustained severe injuries and later died in the hospital. The driver, Veerabhadra, believed to be in his 40s, sustained injuries, but managed to escape just in time.

The deceased were natives of Madakasira, Andhra Pradesh, and residents of Bommasandra. The police suspect they were relocating as the vehicle was carrying furniture and home appliances.

Traffic on the Bengaluru-bound side of the highway was severely affected, with a massive jam stretching late into the evening.
