Two dead in separate accidents at Hebbal and Yelahanka

Bengaluru: Two men, including a pedestrian, were killed in separate accidents on Saturday in Hebbal and Yelahanka.

In a hit-and-run accident, Manohar (39), a resident of Maruthi Layout and an advocate was killed after a speeding car knocked him down on the Kempegowda International Airport Road at Kodigehalli junction on Saturday night. The driver managed to escape from the spot.

He was crossing the junction around 10.30 pm when the car knocked him. A passersby rushed him to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to injuries.

The Hebbal police have obtained CCTV footage to identify the vehicle and its driver.

In another incident, Waseem (30), a resident of Bellahalli village and auto rickshaw driver, was killed after he rammed his vehicle into the median on the busy near Kogilu Layout. He was returning home when the accident occurred. His in-laws had gifted him the autorickshaw.

According to the police, at around 11.30pm, he lost control on his vehicle as he was over-speeding and hit the road median. His vehicle turned turtle and he was severely injured. He was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Yelahanka traffic police have taken up a case and are investigating.
