Bengaluru: The police have booked two BBMP officials for culpable homicide not amounting to murder after a scooter rider died of head injuries caused by a falling tree branch in southern Bengaluru’s Hanumantha Nagar.

Akshay Shivaram, a 29-year-old HR executive, suffered injuries to his skull and brain when a branch fell on his head while he was riding his scooter on 16th Main Road near the Brahma Temple on June 15.

Passersby shifted him to hospital, where he battled for his life for four days before succumbing to his injuries on June 19.

Following Akshay's death, his brother filed a complaint at the Hanumantha Nagar police station.

The police have registered an FIR under BNS Section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) against two BBMP officials — the Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCF) and the Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF).
