Two unidentified men stole a car from an Ola driver at knifepoint near Thalaghattapura on Saturday night. The vehicle was later discovered at Turuvekere in Tumakuru district.

Thalaghattapura police said the two men booked a cab from the smartphone of a student from 100 Feet Road in Thalaghattapura to BGS Hospitals around 10 pm. After riding some distance, they threatened to attack the driver with a lethal weapon, shoved him from the car and drove off.

The driver, Purushottam, called the police. The police verified with Ola and contacted the student who told them the two men requested him to book a cab saying they did not have Internet connection and wanted to visit BGS Hospitals for a medical emergency.
