Anjali Avasthi, a native of Madhya Pradesh who was employed as a software engineer with a private firm for the past six months, hanged herself from a ceiling fan in her paying guest accommodation last night when her two roommates had gone out.

It is suspected that she was suffering from depression due to a failed love affair, police said, adding, her roomates said she was prone to bouts of depression and wept often.
"However, the exact reason is yet to be ascertained as no suicide note has been found," they said.

In a seperate incident, 35-year-old Yogesh Mishra, a team leader in a software company and a native of Rajasthan, hanged himself from the ceiling fan when his wife had gone to bring back their two children from school yesterday.

He had been working for the past two years, police said, adding, the reason behind his action is not known. There was no suicide note.
