Bengaluru: The UK-India Young Professionals Scheme (YPS) 2025 ballot will open on Tuesday and close on Thursday.

This visa programme offers British and Indian citizens the opportunity to live, study, travel, and work in each other's countries for up to two years.

Indian nationals aged 18-30 must enter the ballot on gov.uk to be considered for one of the 3,000 available spots. There is no fee to enter, and successful applicants will be selected at random.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age on the intended date of travel. They must hold a qualification equivalent to a UK bachelor’s degree or higher. They must have at least Rs 2,530 in savings as proof of financial support. They should review all eligibility requirements before entering the ballot.

Chandru Iyer, British Deputy High Commissioner to Karnataka and Kerala, said: "The Young Professionals Scheme offers a unique opportunity to live, travel, study, and work in the UK for up to two years. I encourage young adults from Karnataka and Kerala to apply for this bespoke scheme and experience all that the UK has to offer — from world-class education to breathtaking landscapes."
