Bengaluru: The body of an unidentified man was found in the Vrushabhavati Canal near RV College on the city’s western outskirts, the police said on Friday.

The Kengeri police reached the spot at 12.20 pm after a security guard from the college alerted them. They recovered the body from the canal. 

Prima facie, the body is that of a man, likely aged between 35 and 45. The police noted that the head and skull were decomposed and the belly was swollen. No external injuries were visible. 

The deceased, about 5 feet 4 inches tall, was found wearing a t-shirt and shorts. A tattoo in Tamil reading 'S Jaya' was seen on the left side of his chest. 

The Kengeri police have registered an Unnatural Death Report (UDR) and launched an investigation.
