Bengaluru-based NGO United Way Bengaluru (UWBe) has received a Rs 20 million grant from Visa Foundation to enhance and expand its environmental initiatives in the city.

This collaboration aims to plant nearly 10,000 native tree species to increase Bengaluru's green cover, restore ponds for rainwater conservation, and improve the groundwater table through the construction of 117 percolation wells.

The grant is part of the Visa Foundation Gives programme, a multi-year initiative launched in 2022 to address community issues in locations where Visa employees live and work. In Bengaluru, this initiative was selected through a survey of Visa employees based in the city.
