Apparently, the actor was paid a signing amount of Rs 4 lakh before he backed out because of opposition from the Jewish community and historians.
Now the producers are waging a legal battle to get the money back from Kher. But the actor says the makers are using his name for publicity so the amount is his rightful fee. Last heard, the actor has approached the Cine & TV Artistes’ Association to sort out the matter.
