Addressing a meeting at the BBMP office with officials on various matters, Girinath emphasised the need for swift action in fixing potholes across Bengaluru, especially during the rainy season. He instructed officials to make use of cold mix and eco-fix material to ensure rapid repairs.

In all eight BBMP zones, local contractors must be engaged in procuring the required asphalt and complete the pothole-filling work promptly. He also instructed that a daily report on the pothole-filling progress must be submitted.

Road asphalting projects worth Rs 690 crore are currently underway within the BBMP limits.

Girinath instructed that these works should be completed at the earliest without delay. During the monsoon season, waterlogging is expected at 82 key locations across the city, leading to traffic congestion. To address this, he directed that necessary steps be taken to prevent water accumulation on roads, and ensure smooth water flow into side drains. Temporary measures must be taken immediately to prevent issues in the 44 flood-prone areas in the city.
