Bengaluru: A video showing a differently-abled man begging inside the Bengaluru metro train has gone viral on social media on Saturday.

In the video, a man wearing a white checkered shirt and a skull cap can be seen walking through the coach with his arms outstretched. It is unclear at which station or location the video was captured. The videos appeared to be captured by some passengers in the coach.

"We don't have all the details with us currently but our security personnel are examining the footage," said a senior BMRCL official. The official noted that begging on the metro is not permitted.

It is learnt that the man boarded the metro train on the Purple Line at the Challaghatta metro station. He had apparently scanned the QR code to board the train and alighted at the Kengeri metro station.

A similar incident had occurred in November 2023, where a man with a hearing impairment boarded a train on the Green Line and begged for money. This incident on Saturday is likely the second such incident.
