Bengaluru: Assembly Speaker U T Khader’s landmark and ambitious plan to launch weekend guided tours of Vidhana Soudha is all set for a curtain-raiser event on April 27.
The pre-launch ceremony will take place on the grand steps of the Soudha. The project is being coordinated by multiple departments under the guidance of chief secretary Shalini Rajneesh.
On Tuesday, a preparatory meeting involving heads from various departments was held at the Soudha to finalise details. “The idea is to make the Soudha more accessible and relatable to the common public,” a senior official told DH.
The tours will be conducted every Sunday, second and fourth Saturdays and on public holidays, from 8 am to 5 pm.
Visitors will be grouped into batches of 30 people, each allotted a two-hour guided experience.
Although ticket pricing is yet to be finalised, officials said rates may vary from Rs 50 to Rs 150 per person.
