Violators of RWH rule penalised

The BWSSB has penalised 1.08 lakh property owners who have not installed rainwater harvesting systems in their premises from May. The penalty involves 25% additional water and sanitary charges on the domestic connection and 50% for non-domestic connections.

As the deadline for RWH ended in May, BWSSB has started penalising violators. The amount of penalty would be doubled if the property owners do not install these facilities even after three months from June this year.

The board has asked those who have installed RWH to provide details along with RR number and address to the BWSSB Sub Divisional Office concerned and register it to avoid further additional levy.
