Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday huddled with Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda and Waqf Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan for an in-depth discussion on the Waqf controversy.
According to sources, Siddaramaiah got a briefing on the genesis of the controversy. He was also told what various courts and governments have said on Waqf. “There’s a lot of misrepresentation of facts, which was discussed,” a source said.
The meeting came at a time when the opposition BJP is loading ammunition to fire at the ruling Congress on the Waqf issue during the winter session of the legislature in Belagavi starting Monday.
