A video showing a man begging on Bengaluru's Namma Metro train is making rounds on social media. The clip posted by an X user shows the man walking inside the metro, going near each passenger and begging.
After the video went viral, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has commented on the incident, saying the man was travelling from Majestic to Dasarahalli on Tuesday.
"He entered the train with a ticket at 11 am yesterday from Majestic & exited at Dasarahalli. He began begging later during the ride. However, no such activity was observed during routine patrol by Home Guards," BMRCL said in a statement on X.
Last year, in a similar incident, a differently-abled man was seen begging on the Bengaluru metro train.
In the video, a man wearing a white checkered shirt and a skull cap was seen walking through the coach with his arms outstretched. It was later learnt that the man boarded the metro train on the Purple Line at the Challaghatta station. He had scanned the QR code to board the train and alighted at the Kengeri station.
