She was speaking on the occasion of Junior School Annual Prize Day in Bishop Cotton Girls’ School here.

Ishani Chakraborty won the Carmel Joseph Cup for the best all rounder in the Junior school and the OGA prize for Academic progress in Std IV went to N Manisha Priya.

Leadership qualities

Bishop Cotton principal Lydia Joshua welcomed the gathering, “Nurturing and growing leadership qualities in the early years helps to develop team work as well as respect for authority.” The aim of giving away awards is to inspire students to aim higher to reach greater heights, she said.

About 225 students were given awards  for the academic year 2009-2010. The Lobo Cup for the Inter House singing competition was won by Foley House.
