After Mungaru Male, Pooja has been brave enough to experiment with new directors and different kind of roles, and despite the failure and success, she is proud of each of the roles she has essayed thus far.
This time around, the actress is again trying out something new with Naa Rani Nee Maharani.
“When the film was offered to me I was ecstatic as Malashree also did a film called Rani Maharani, which turned out to be a huge hit. I went and spoke to her after I signed the movie and now that the film is complete, I can’t wait to hear her response to it,” Pooja tells Metrolife.
The actress says that playing a double role has its challenges which thanks to director
Ramamurthy, she easily overcame.
Being the centre of attraction in most films is what actresses dream of and as glamourous as it may sound, Pooja says that it is equally stressful as she has to carry the entire film on her shoulders.
“Being the central character in the film is a hard job, but I did every bit to give my best and promote the film to the fullest. I give my heart and soul to every film, but the fate of the film is not completely in an actor’s hand. At the end of the day it is a group effort,” she says.
Happy with the result of the film, Pooja couldn’t wait to show it off to her fans.
“I wanted to hold a special preview for my fans. So I went ahead and posted an invite on my Facebook account where the first 100 got a free entry,” she says and adds, “The response was tremendous.
I then posted my personal number on my status, which was rather daring for an actress to do but I wanted to give right directions to the theatre so that my fans didn’t miss the show. Luckily my fans have been very mature and I haven’t had any problems post that.”
Interestingly Mungaru Male, which was one of Pooja’s biggest hits, was also released in December. So will the same magic work with Nee Rani Naa Maharani? “I surely hope so,” she beams.
