EXCITED Children rushing towards Santa.

In a special Breakfast with Santa event organised by the Leela Palace, it was not only the children but also the parents who had a whale of a time.

It sure seemed like a fun-filled Christmas with the entrance done up with a nice Christmas Tree.  There was also a small display of Christmas goodies like gingerbread houses, cookies and cake. Two green elves were prancing around welcoming the children.

What got the children really excited was the huge sleigh that had all the gifts that Santa had brought with him.

“The entire concept was a great way to enjoy as a family and created special memories for the holiday season,” said Roopa, a parent.

Apart from the buffet, there was a huge table set outside for the little ones to showcase their culinary skills.  “Applying the icing on the cup cakes, cookies and decorating the Christmas tree biscuits with chocolate sprinkles and marshmallows was so much fun. I made an entire bunch for my family to eat,” said the eight-year-old Sasha.

The highlight of the morning, however, was waiting for the Santa to arrive. Children were running from door to door wondering which way  the Santa was going to enter from. Finally, the Santa came on a small modern-day sleigh and the children happily hopped on to it and welcomed him. After things calmed down, it was time for the photo session to begin. Each child, along with his or her family, told Santa what he or she wanted for Christmas and that moment was captured.

This was followed by a complete continental breakfast with toast, bacon, sausages, French toast and maple syrup along with eggs, made-to-order. There was also a dessert counter and a fresh fruits’ counter.  “This definitely was the perfect start for the holiday weekend,” said Dhiren, a parent.
