Woman arrested for running prostitution racket in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A 55-year-old woman has been arrested by the Kengeri police for allegedly running a prostitution racket from her residence in Harsha Layout.

Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted a raid on Thursday.

In his complaint, police constable Naveen Kumar stated that the suspect, Gauramma, lured women with promises of money and facilitated prostitution at her home.

A case has been registered under sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956. Two women and two men have also been taken into custody.

The police are investigating further.
