The deceased was identified as Renuka GN, while the injured were nine-year-old Mokshith and 32-year-old Kusuma. The police have detained the truck driver, identified as P Govardhan, a resident of Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh, and are questioning him.

Kusuma was riding the scooter from Nayandahalli towards DG Circle with Renuka and Mokshith at the time. The truck — driven from the Nayandahalli Outer Ring Road (ORR) in an allegedly rash and negligent manner — struck their scooter from behind. All three fell off the scooter, and the left wheel of the truck ran over Renuka.

All three were rushed to hospital where doctors pronounced Renuka dead on arrival, the police added.
