A 55-year-old woman was run over by a speeding Tempo Traveller on the Outer Ring Road in Rajajinagar, North Bengaluru, on Friday.
Mariyamma, of Jaibhuvaneshwari Nagar, was returning from work when the Tempo Traveller, driven in a rash and negligent manner, collided with a car before mowing her down. Mariyamma sustained severe head injuries and died later at a nearby hospital. She was a native of Kalaburagi, and worked as a housekeeper at a hotel.
The Rajajinagar traffic police arrested the driver, identified as Manjunath, and seized the vehicle.
