Bengaluru: A 25-year-old woman was allegedly sexually harassed and robbed while walking her dog in West Bengaluru at 10.30 pm on
November 7.
The incident was reported to the police by the victim on November 8, but it became public later.
The FIR filed by the Jnanabharathi police on November 8 states that the victim, a law practitioner, was walking her dog near Upakar Layout, when the suspect approached and asked if he could pet the dog. The suspect then began talking to it.
The woman pulled away her dog, but the man touched her inappropriately, the FIR notes. He tried again, but she slapped him.
Flees with phone
During the commotion, her phone slipped from her hand. She screamed, and the suspect fled with her phone.
The police have opened the case under BNS sections 74 (assault or use of criminal force against a woman with intent or knowledge that it is likely to outrage her modesty), 75 (sexual harassment), 303 (theft), and 115 (voluntarily causing hurt).
They are analysing the CCTV footage to identify the suspect.
