A 58-year-old woman died after being run over by a car near IAF Road in Yelahanka, North Bengaluru, on Monday, police said.
Unni Malai, a native of Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, who worked as a domestic help in the city, got off a BMTC bus and was walking to her younger sister's house in the IAF Quarters when the speeding car knocked her down around 10 am. She sustained grievous injuries on the head and the legs.
Passersby rushed her to the Yelahanka government hospital, but she died on the way. She lived in Rajajinagar.
The Yelahanka traffic police have opened a case of hit-and-run and are reviewing the CCTV footage of the surrounding areas to identify the car.
