The Science Tech Park has been designed to help students learn about the equipment related to environment, science and space and their use. On display are a hydro power station, mineral home, audiometer, sound echo system, the structure of genes, and a sun-dial and other equipment which provide information about science.

Scientist and former Space Commission Chairman U R Rao himself inaugurated the Festival and the science tech park.

Prof C V Vishveshwara was conferred with the award ‘Vagdevi Vigyana Ratna’ for his contribution to space science.

About 4,000 students from 150 schools are participating in the festival, where they have the chance to get poetic about science and technology, create artworks, or posters about present problems and thereby create awareness about the environment.

There is also a competition for young software programmers, besides 20 other contests.

Also on display are model satellites, rockets, and remote sensing equipment, Chandrayan and photos/charts of other types of rockets, and aeromodels from the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Science and Technology.
